WHAT is the game of lawn bowling? Lawn bowling is a game between two individuals or between two teams.
The object of the game is to roll bowls (ball-like objects) on the green toward a small white ball called a "jack" located at the other end of the green, about 100 feet away. The person who has rolled their bowl closest to the jack scores a point. The challenge is that the bowl (weighing 3.5-4 pounds and about the size of a large grapefruit which has been slightly flattened) has an embedded weight on one side, which casues it to arch 3-6 ft toward the end of its roll.
